The two men that will primarily be tasked with rebuilding Denver’s offensive line will be position coach Mike Munchak and recently hired assistant o-line coach Chris Kuper. Kuper interviewed with Broncos over the weekend and was officially announced by head coach Vic Fangio on Tuesday.
Kuper played offensive guard for eight seasons, spending his entire playing career in the orange and blue. A three-time captain, Kuper was the recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award in 2012 as voted by his teammates.
Over the last three years, Kuper has worked as an assistant with the Miami Dolphins. After being hired as a quality control assistant in 2016, Kuper was promoted to assistant offensive line coach in 2017.
In 2017, the Dolphins had a patchwork offensive line with nine different starters taking the field at one point or another. Despite having a multitude of different starting combinations, the Dolphins had the No. 11 offense line in the NFL with only 33 sacks allowed.
