There has been a lot of speculation this offseason on whether or not running back Marshawn Lynch will come out of retirement. Having spent some time with him, Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson offered somewhat of an update.
“My man ‘Money’ [is] good,” Anderson said of Lynch on Tuesday. “We kicked it a little bit this offseason. He looks really good and in shape.”
As to whether or not Lynch is planning on returning, Anderson said he knows the answer, but has no intention of sharing. If he does decide to come back, Anderson has no question that Lynch could be successful.
“He’s still going to be Beast Mode,” Anderson said. “That is one thing I do know. He loves the game. He definitely misses it. Whether he comes back or not, that’s up to him.”
Not only are there rumors that Lynch is coming back, but if he does so, it would likely be for his hometown team: the Oakland Raiders. Anderson opined that a return would bode well for Lynch’s other business ventures as well, namely Beast Mode Apparel.
“I told him ‘you want to come back’ because he has his Beast Mode store in Oakland that will just run up the streets in Oakland,” Anderson explained. “It’s a great endorsement and marketing deal for him if he can make that happen.”
Now, in two year time, the Raiders will be packing up and leaving the Bay Area for the bright lights of Las Vegas. Should Lynch go with them, that could open up even more business opportunities for the running back.
“If he can find a way to get that [Beast Mode Apparel] in Vegas, then he’s really putting his investments in the right places,” Anderson said.
