Great news, Denver Broncos fans.
According to Benjamin Allbright, the NFL is planning on making their stadiums full capacity in 2021! That means, more fun with your friends, more real crowd noise and the likelihood that Empower Field at Mile High Stadium is rocking this fall.
Nature is healing.
That packed Mile High will help the young Broncos compete this season in their eight home games, and another aid in their quest to making it back to the playoffs for the first time in five years is their easy strength of schedule.
According to CBS Sports, the Broncos’ .471 opponents’ win percentage from 2020 is tied for the fifth-easiest schedule in the NFL. Denver is tied with Miami, while NFC East teams the Eagles (.430) and Cowboys (.452) have the easiest. On the other end of the spectrum, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the toughest slate of opponents with a combined .573 winning percentage in 2020.
But, maybe that’s not the best way to predict how difficult a team’s schedule will be in 2021. Obviously, it helps, but teams change drastically from year to year, so going off the previous season’s records can be foolhardy.
So, this engineer and research assistant used projected win totals from Las Vegas to take a swing at how easy or difficult a team’s schedule is for this coming season. And the results? Denver has the fourth-easiest schedule in the league.
I used the Vegas win totals by @DKSportsbook as well as the projected total of 11 wins for the Packers by @rjwhite1 to compute the 2021 strength of schedule for each team based on the projected wins of their opponents as of now pic.twitter.com/DfP0eLn4qi

Can the Broncos finally buck the trend of missing the playoffs every year since Peyton Manning retired? It seems they have a great shot this season, with the team playing sorry opponents like the Jets, Jaguars and that awful NFC East.
In fact, thanks to the great job done this offseason by George Paton — signing starters like Kyle Fuller, Ronald Darby and trading for Teddy Bridgewater at QB — and then following that up with a very good draft, the Broncos are certainly set up to make the playoffs again.
Warren Sharp even analyzed the betting odds before and after the draft and schedule release, and here’s something exciting for you Denver die-hards: The Broncos went from 50-1 odds to win the Super Bowl to 20-1, a -30 shift, which was the biggest in the league.
And, on top of that, some believe the Broncos will have one of the top D/ST in fantasy football because of how easy their schedule is this season. So, if you take their defense in your league this year, you’re not just a Broncos homer, but you’re a smart fantasy player, too.
Our Zach Segars broke down the Broncos schedule, looking for the top games, with the Chiefs in Week 18 being the best one. Take a look at his other top-4 games here.
