After weeks of rumors and speculation it appears that Wade Phillips will become Denver’s defensive coordinator. Gil Whiteley first broke the story.

Vic Lombardi later confirmed the hire.

Phillips held the same position on Gary Kubiak’s staff in Houston and has deep ties to the Broncos so the hire should come as no surprise.
Vance Joseph seemed to be leading candidate but the Bengals refused to let Joseph out current contract.
Phillips hasn’t worked in the NFL since the 2013 season when he served as interim head coach for the Texans after Kubiak was fired.
