The Denver Nuggets are now 3-12 vs the top four teams in both the Eastern and Western Conference, excluding themselves.

Nikola Jokic hurt his elbow and Aaron Gordon exited early with a calf injury, but the Nuggets hung around with the Oklahoma City Thunder until the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, that’s when the Thunder separated because they’re a machine that just keeps on rolling, while the Nuggets are a bit weaker across the board.

If the Nuggets are fully healthy, they have a chance against the best of the best teams like OKC? That’s the problem though: in the NBA, teams are rarely at full strength, and the Nuggets are rarely going to have a perfect opportunity where the stars align. That can’t be their only hope. There has to be more flexibility than that in order to be a serious title threat again.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn breaks down the Denver Nuggets 127-103 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder that was close until the fourth quarter. SGA, Chet Holmgren, and the Thunder ran away with it in the fourth, but Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets couldn’t get it done. This was the first of two straight matchups between the Nuggets and Thunder, so Ryan talks about the one that just happened and the one that will happen later tonight.
