Earlier today, Jon Heyman reported that Carlos Gonzalez had asked the Colorado Rockies to be traded. When asked about the report before Thursday’s game, Cargo responded with three simple words:

Gonzalez is having a fantastic season for the Rockies — hitting .319 with 18 home runs and 51 RBIs — but speculation has swirled around whether he might be looking for greener pastures.
Apparently, that speculation caught Cargo off guard.
CarGo said no meeting took place. He got a call from his agent, Scott Boras, in the morning asking about what happened. He was "surprised"

Losing Cargo a year after losing Tulo would definitely hurt, especially if the Rockies can garner a King’s ransom in return.
