Last season the Denver Broncos offensive line was a complete mess, and former Broncos lineman Ken Lanier says the key for success this year is chemistry.
Last year, the Broncos’ line went through so much turnover that the starting five was different seemingly every game; with Max Garcia, they even developed a guard rotation that altered the line from drive to drive. The line never got comfortable. With eight different players getting more then 100 snaps, there was no time to build that chemistry Lanier is talking about
“When you do that much shuffling with offensive lineman, and people in general, it makes it hard to gel,” Lanier said. “It makes it hard to play together.”
Lanier played 13 seasons with the Broncos and said that, when he played, he knew what each one of his fellow offensive lineman was going to do every play.
No matter who is playing quarterback this season, the Broncos offensive line is going to need to learn to play with each other in order to be able to protect him.
