Iannetta signed a two-year deal to return to where his career started.
Iannetta spent the first six years of his major league career in Colorado, hitting .235 with 236 RBI and 63 home runs. Iannetta was traded on November 30, 2011, to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for pitcher Tyler Chatwood, who signed with the Cubs on Thursday.
Iannetta spent four seasons with the Angels, who also spent time with the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks, before now returning to Colorado.
