The College Football Playoff Rankings may be the only one that truly matters at this point, but it’s good to check in with the rest, particularly the AP Top 25, which has been the standard bearer for decades.
Last week, despite being 15th in the CFP Rankings, the Colorado Buffs remained on the backend of the AP’s poll at 21. After taking care of the UCLA Bruins on Thursday, the AP caught up, moving the Buffs up to 16.
At 7-2, Colorado remains atop the Pac-12 South, with three tough opponents remaining on their schedule: Arizona, No. 23 Washington State and No. 13 Utah. If they get through that test, they’ll most likely face off against undefeated No. 4 Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
A win there and … well, anything from the Rose Bowl to the Playoffs is possible.
