Thanks to their ability to close at the negotiating table, the Colorado Rockies now have a new closer in their bullpen.
According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Rockies have agreed to terms with two-time All-Star closer Greg Holland.

With the addition of Holland (coupled with the signing of Mike Dunn), the Rockies have addressed their biggest need, which was reinforcing their bullpen. They also landed the versatile Ian Desmond, representing a break in tradition, as the typically frugal franchise made quite the splash in this offseason’s pool of free agents. According to Passan, the deal will pay Holland at least $7 million in 2016 with incentives that could double that number.

The 31-year-old Holland missed all of 2016, as he recovered from Tommy John surgery. In 2015, he had and ERA of 3.83 in 44.2 innings pitched. He boasts a career 2.42 ERA and has recorded 145 saves, all with the Kansas City Royals.
