There was a lot of speculation whether Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari was going to be shipped out of town near the NBA Trade Deadline. Now, the deadline has come and gone. Still a Nugget, Gallinari is relieved that it is over.
“I’m happy that I’m [still] here in Denver,” Gallinari told Sean Walsh and Aniello Piro on Mile High Sports Radio on Thursday. “It was crazy for everybody, because we didn’t know what was going on or what was going to happen, but that’s part of our job.”
In addition to putting the deadline behind him, Gallinari can put his health problems behind him as well, the latest of which was a groin injury.
“I’m feeling good,” he said. “My groin is good.”
Now, the Nuggets are gearing up for the stretch run. Currently sitting in the eighth seed in the Western Conference, they have a three game cushion on the final playoff spot; and are feeling good about their chances of making the postseason.
“We’re very confident,” Gallinari said. “We’re going to play every game like it’s a playoff game for us. We are ready.”
