What does 10 tackles, 3.5 sacks and being the catalyst of the top-ranked defense through three weeks get you?
AFC Defensive Player of the Month if you’re DeMarcus Ware, that’s what.
Congrats to LB @DeMarcusWare on 1st career Def Player of the Month honor. Needs 2 sacks to tie Lawrence Taylor for 11th all-time (132.5).

It’s hard to believe that with all his career accolades, including eight Pro Bowls and four All-Pro honors, that this is his first POM award.
Ware has been a beast through the first three games. He put in a ton of work over the offseason and it’s paying huge dividends on the field.
The Broncos defense is tops in total defense (yards per game), passing yards per game and is second in total takeaways and third in sacks. As the leader of the defense, this award should be as much for his personal accomplishments as for the team’s success so far.
We couldn’t be happier for a guy who is not only a stud on the field, but a class act off of it.
With all the added attention Ware will likely be getting in the next few weeks, that should mean big things for Von Miller, Malik Jackson and the rest of the Denver defense.
Don’t be surprised if this isn’t the only POM award Denver takes home this season.
