The Denver Nuggets announced their latest round of pre-draft workout participants, who will be at Pepsi Center on Wednesday, June 8.
The list (subject to change) is as follows:
Malcolm Brogdon, Virginia guard
Juancho Hernangomez, Estudiantes forward
Demetrius Jackson, Notre Dame guard
Diamond Stone, Maryland center
Tyler Ulis, Kentucky guard
Stephen Zimmerman, UNLV forward/center
This group has a lot more talent in it them the last few pre-draft workout groups. The prospects are still late-first round to late-second round talent but with two of their first round picks being 15th and 19th and an additional two second-round picks, look for these names to get brought up quite consistently with the Nuggets.
Demetrius Jackson is a prospect that I think would thrive in Denver. He balances extreme athletic ability with an absolute psychotic approach to the game. Jackson wants it to be known that he is the most important player on the court. He wants to take every game winning shot and when he has an opportunity to throw the hammer down he will rise up and dunk with ferocity. Adding that type of fire, passion, and athletic ability to the Nuggets second team is a scary thought.
Demetrius Jackson, Will Barton, Wilson Chandler, Darrell Arthur, and Jusef Nurkic would terrorize other bench units. Jackson still needs to learn the intricacies of the point guard position and clean up his three point shot but with a player as intense as Jackson it is hard to see his three-point percentage go up in time. For now enjoy his ridiculous highlights and imagine his type of play at altitude.

Malcolm Brogdon is another enigmatic prospect that is projected to be selected in the early to middle second round. Brogdon is a shooting guard out of Virginia who sports a 6-foot-6 and 223 pound frame with a 6-foot-10 wingspan. He is not gifted athletically but his size makes up for a lot of his athletic deficiencies. He brings solid three-point shooting contributions at the mark of 39.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Brogdon would bring fantastic defensive potential and an undying intensity on the perimeter and a silky three-point shot. He has also been invited to the USA Men’s Select team along with Emmanuel Mudiay and Gary Harris. He projects as a “three-and-D” type wing player at the NBA level.
Juan(cho) Hernangomez is another extremely interesting player that the Nuggets may be looking to add if they do not see Darrell Arthur in their future plans. He is a 6-foot-9, 220 pounds forward who has taken the Spanish League by storm. He is a face-up forward who has the length and shooting touch to shoot over smaller defenders while stretching out to the three-point line. Coupling that with 9.7 rebounds per 40 minutes and a near seven-foot wingspan and you have the potential for a very night modern-day power forward. If he can translate his game to the NBA and bulk up he could be an absolute menace with his fluid ability to run the floor and his bouncy athletic ability.
Overall this is the most talented and feasible group in the pre-draft process so far. With five different draft picks one of these names may end up in the Mile High City next season.
