Gary Kubiak was not hired an entire day before beginning to assemble his coaching staff. As he landed in Denver today he decided to bring along a close friend. According to the Denver Post’s Mike Klis, Rick Dennison will be the Broncos’ new offensive coordinator.

Dennison was a nine-year NFL player with the Broncos and a teammate of Kubiak’s before joining him in the coaching ranks. Dennison started with the Broncos and took over as the offensive coordinator from 2006-08 when Kubiak left for the head coaching position of the Houston Texans.  Dennison joined Kubiak in Houston in 2010 and followed him to the Baltimore Ravens in 2014. Obviously, Dennison is very familiar with the zone-blocking offense that Kubiak is likely to bring to the Broncos.

According to Klis, Ravens tight end coach Brian Pariani will also be joining the Broncos staff. He also coached with Kubiak in Houston.

The defensive coordinator position will be the last remaining big hire for Kubiak and many believe that Vance Joseph is the front-runner for the job. Joseph spent last season as the defensive backs coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and also has ties Colorado. He played quarterback for the University of Colorado before moving to cornerback in the NFL. He coached with Kubiak from 2011-13 as the defensive backs coach. Joseph interviewed for the Broncos head coach position last Friday.

Kubiak will be announced as the 15th head coach for the Denver Broncos tomorrow at noon at the team’s training facility. He will likely field and address several questions concerning Dennison and the rest of his staff then.
