Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hosts a number of football camps in the offseason, but his camp in Denver holds a special place in his heart.
“This is probably one of the best camps I have. I have maybe five or six camps year round. So being able to come back into Denver and do this after everything that Denver has done for me in the eight years I’ve been here, this is one of the best things I can do other than playing on Sunday, Monday, Thursday,” Thomas explained.
The Demaryius Thomas Football ProCamp was held at Mullen High School on Thursday and Friday. Thomas, along with a group of prep football coaches, hosted more than 250 kids and ran them through fundamental drills.
When asked about why he enjoys this camp so much, Thomas cited how much he gets to interact with the kids and how organized ProCamps set up is.
“That’s why it’s probably my favorite. Every camp doesn’t go that way [with a lot of interaction]. They do a great job with ProCamps keeping the kids in the groups. Back in my home town it’s a little different. All the kids are jumping on me so it’s more of a play time,” the Pro Bowl wide receiver said. “This year I actually have a fun day as part of the camp. It’s going to have football stuff but we’ll still have a little fun.”
Now that his camp is over, Thomas will be turning his attention to team training camp, which starts July 27.
