Denver Golf has become well known amongst the golfing community for putting on some of the best competitive amateur events in the state of Colorado, and this year will be no exception as they host four events for men, senior men and women of all levels. These are great events for players to experience top-level competition against players of their same skill level.
Denver’s first amateur event, coming June 13-15, will be the Men’s Championship event. To make it even more competitive, it has been expanded this year to a three-day event with a cut after two rounds. This event gives the best amateur men in Denver and surrounding areas the chance to compete for the title of the Denver Men’s City Amateur Champion. With an outstanding purse on the line, players with a 2.4 or lower handicap can compete at City Park for three days.
The second event is the men’s flighted tournament for players with a 2.5 or higher handicap. This flighted event gives players a chance to win top purse prizes in each of their flights. This event will also be played at City Park, June 28-29.
Denver’s third event is the Denver Men’s Senior Amateur. Senior men 50 and older, can compete for top prizes in this flighted competition; they will play at Overland Park Golf Course.
The newest event (added in 2019) is the Denver Women’s City Amateur. This will also be played at City Park Golf Course and is a flighted event for women of all handicap levels on August 2-3.
