Despite making a number of calls and trying to get involved in different ways, the Denver Nuggets ultimately made no trades before the NBA Trade Deadline this year.

The Nuggets have immense pressure on them heading into the 2025 NBA Playoffs, and while other teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Golden State Warriors all made moves, the Nuggets were unable to get involved. There were rumors flying around that the Nuggets had interest in a variety of names like Jonas Valanciunas, Larry Nance Jr., Chris Boucher, Terance Mann, and others. Unfortunately for Nuggets fans, Denver was unable to agree to a deal to improve the roster this year.

In addition, the Nuggets were unable to shed any salary to get under the first luxury tax apron, meaning they can’t sign players like Bruce Brown on the buyout market (over $12.8 million in salary for the 2024-25 season). So, it appears this will be the team the Nuggets go into the playoffs with, rightly or wrongly.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll for the NBA Trade Deadline, Ryan Blackburn is joined by Jeff Morton of CSG Podcast and Jake Shapiro of Denver Sports. They go live to discuss all the NBA Trades around the league, the Denver Nuggets NOT getting involved, and break down any deals (or non-deals) that are happening.
