The Denver Nuggets continued their dominant play at Ball Arena last night, winning 129-104 vs the Golden State Warriors to move to 5-0 at home.
It was a great showing. It was also an NBA Cup game, one that the Nuggets won handily to stay alive in the NBA Cup proceedings. Denver’s now 1-1 in Group C after a close loss to the Portland Trail Blazers last week and a blowout win last night. Point differential matters as a tiebreaker, so Denver winning by 25 points last night was a big deal after incurring a loss early on.
How much the Nuggets (and the NBA) actually care about the Cup is up for debate. The prize money was mentioned, as was a trip to Las Vegas. The players will have their own motivations, and the fans can enjoy some good competition.
