Get ready, Denver, you’re going to be hearing a whole lot of wolf howls this season.
Derek Wolfe is a freak of nature, and it’s not just because he’s 6-foot-5, 295 pounds and capable of eating Tom Brady’s kids for breakfast. It’s because three days after being helped off the field at training camp with what looked to be a severely sprained ankle, he’s back starting for the Denver Broncos in Week 2 of the preseason.
More importantly, he was dominating.
On the Broncos first defensive snap, Wolfe shed a blocker with ease and stuffed Carlos Hyde in the backfield for a 1-yard loss.

The Denver Broncos invested a lot in Wolfe last season, and now that Malik Jackson is off raking in the cash in Jacksonville, they’ll be expecting their investment to pay off in a big way.
If his playoff performance and his few snaps on Saturday are any indication, that’s exactly what he plans on doing.
