As the Colorado Avalanche and Ryan O’Reilly endure another grinding contract negotiation, it appears clear that some of O’Reilly’s teammates already miss No. 90.
Fresh off an IIHF World Championships victory, Matt Duchene, Nathan MacKinnon and Tyson Barrie gathered Tuesday night to show off their new hardware and post a message to O’Reilly via Twitter.

The gathering was part of the Hockey Canada’s #GoldGivesBack event and ring ceremony.
O’Reilly is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2015-16 season, and endured a previous contract stalemate prior to the shortened 2012-13 season (he did not re-join the club until February 2013 that year).
O’Reilly was also on the championship roster for team Canada, but was not in attendance for the event. Not to worry, though, Duchene provided a close-up of the hardware O’Reilly can expect to receive.
