They only trail Vegas by one point for the top spot in the Western Division standings heading into tonight’s duel with the Anaheim Ducks, who are playing their third game in four days.
Sunday afternoon, Anaheim rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to beat St. Louis 3-2 in overtime thanks to defenseman Josh Manson, who picked up the game-winning goal in the extra frame.
Colorado is 8-1-2 in their last 11 home games, while the Ducks have lost three of their last five road contests, including an 8-4 beatdown the last time they played Colorado at Ball Arena back on March 5th.

Bets We Like With a Ducks Win
Ducks Team Total OVER 2 Goals (+114, DraftKings)
Anaheim had a good weekend, sweeping the struggling St. Louis Blues and scoring seven total goals in the two-game set. This team has struggled offensively, and now playing arguably the best club in the league is going to be very difficult.
Anaheim did end up scoring four goals in their 8-4 blowout loss last time they played in this building, meaning they could put some pressure on the Avs and score a pair over the course of the night.
Bets We Like With an Avalanche Win
Avalanche Team Total OVER 3.5 Goals (-157, DraftKings)
Colorado’s offense finally had an off-game on Saturday, scoring only two goals in the overtime loss. The Avalanche now have scored 41 goals in the last nine games combined.
This prop has cashed in seven of their last eight contests, and with Anaheim missing their starting goalie John Gibson, the Ducks are projected to start veteran backup Ryan Miller in net tonight. The 40-year old former Vezina Trophy winner has lost five of his last six starts, allowing three or more goals in four of those games. Colorado should have no problem getting over this team total mark this evening.

Bets We Like Independent of the Outcome
Goal Scored in the First 10 Minutes (YES -150, DraftKings)
Colorado’s offense has been attacking early and often over the last several games, and they were held off the board in the first period on Thursday. This sparked a huge second period rally, in which the Avs scored four goals and outshot the Knights 16-5. I expect both clubs to come out strong in the opening frame, which should lead to a goal in the first 10 minutes of play.
Ducks vs. Avalanche Prediction
Colorado is still playing hockey at a very high level and even with the back-to-back wins Anaheim picked up this weekend, they still aren’t going to match the speed and skill of this Avalanche team. Colorado wins 5-2.
