The rookie haircut is an annual rite of passage as NFL training camps come to an end. It’s a tradition that’s survived through the years and spread to many other sports at many other levels. (Your correspondent was himself subject to a heinous hairdo as a freshman playing baseball in North Carolina).
So as the Broncos broke camp on Thursday morning, the veterans broke out their shears and clippers to give the rookies a little good-natured makeover.

Two Broncos rookies, Ty Sambrailo and Max Garcia (pictured below), have incredible hair and are mountainous men. It will be quite interesting to see if either of them falls victim to the amateur barber’s chair.
Perhaps none was more famous, though, than Tim Tebow’s “Friar Tuck” look back in 2010…
