After the passing of Proposition DD in November of 2019, sports gambling will be legal in Colorado on May 1st, 2020.
But what does it mean for the Average Joe? Is a trip to Blackhawk necessary to start gambling on May 1st? Or can regular sports fans grab their smartphones and start betting right away?
Mike Raffensperger, the Chief Marketing Officer of FanDuel, joined The Ronnie K Show on Mile High Sports Radio on Wednesday and says, it’s as easy as downloading the app and getting those fingers betting.
“This Friday, we’ll be live right on your phone. The first thing we’ve created that we’re very excited about is a new free-to-play game we’re calling it ‘Anything Book’,” said Raffensperger.
“Every day we’ll create a prop bet to make a pick on. It can be everything like the weather, the stock market, reality television, politics. It’s just a way to keep entertained and have a fun diversion during a difficult time and frankly teach people about sports betting and [it] shows the innovation that FanDuel has.”
Along with learning about sports betting, credit can be won through the app with the correct picks that can be used to eventually bet on sports, when the COVID-19 pandemic slows and the sports world opens back up for business.
“You can win five bucks every day in sports betting credit that you can use and place sports bets either now, or when sports come back on,” said Raffensperger.
But even with sports on hold, popular bets like futures are live as of May 1st with FanDuel, including options for the Denver Broncos upcoming season.
