Lafayette ‘Fat’ Lever joined Sean Walsh and T.J. McBride of Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7 to talk about his upcoming jersey retirement, as well as other tidbits about the Denver Nuggets, past memories, triple-doubles, and even some Arizona State University football.
Lever was a member of the Nuggets for six years, from the 1984-85 season through the 1989-90 season. During that span of time, Lever averaged 17 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.2 steals in 35.6 minutes per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 30.5 percent from three-point distance, and 78 percent from the free-throw line.
Denver’s original triple-double king was Fat Lever — he accumulated 43 triple-doubles with the Nuggets — and his number 12 jersey will be raised into the rafters of the Pepsi Center on Saturday, Dec. 2nd against the Los Angeles Lakers.
