When playing at Moby Arena, the Colorado State Rams have been feeding off the Fort Collins crowd and hope to continue that when they host to Boise State on Wednesday.
The team’s playing with energy and joy, seemingly recharged under interim head coach Jase Herl.
In an interview with Danny Williams and Benny Bash on Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7, Herl says that opportunities for the team still lie in front of them.
“We’re playing free and loose. Our schedule coming up playing at Fresno… that’s always a tough place to play,” Herl said.
“The good thing is we’ve got games lined up in front of us that we’re not supposed to win. There’s not going to be any pressure on us; we’re going to go out there, we’re going to have fun, we’re going to play fast and free. Let the chips fall where they may and then go into the conference tournament and do the same thing — just try to take it one game at a time.”
Herl also says the schedule ahead could help open some eyes to the hard work that CSU has been putting in; something that they can take advantage of.
“The good thing is the schedule ahead of us. You start beating some of those teams, you start competing and doing those things that going to open eyes — and these guys deserve that. They’ve worked extremely hard, it’s been an extremely long year for them, starting back in August when we were in the Bahamas for a foreign tour; we’ve still got multiple opportunities in front of us that we can take advantage of.”
