Jamal Murray recorded a career-high 24 points, including 12 in a span of less than three minutes, in a 110-107 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night at Pepsi Center.
Murray, Denver’s top pick (seventh overall) in the 2016 NBA Draft, led the Nuggets in scoring and added six rebounds. He was 3-for-4 from 3-point range. Jusuf Nurkic recorded another double-double, going for 14 and 14 in the win.
Denver led by as many as 10 in the second quarter thanks to a 22-0 run, but the Bulls battled back to tie the game at half. It was a back-and-forth affair until the end. Chicago’s Jimmy Butler scored 35 in the loss.
Denver gets no rest following the win. They are in Utah on Wednesday to face a Jazz team that is winless in their last four games. The Nuggets are now 6-8 on the season.
