Just when they get knocked down, the Denver Nuggets battle right back. On the second leg of a back-to-back more than 600 miles apart, Denver handed the Celtics a 123-107 thumping in Boston.
Denver lost on Saturday night in Detroit in the hump game of a five-game road trip. They responded by scoring 77 points in the first half on Sunday, including 24 by point guard Emmanuel Mudiay in the first quarter. Mudiay led all scorers with 30, tying a career high.
Denver’s 77 points were the most in a half by any team in the NBA this year. Wilson Chandler had another solid game, adding 22 points of his own off the bench.
Gary Harris (groin injury) earned his first start of the year and played 22 minutes in the win. Kenneth Faried had 12 points and 11 rebounds, as well.
Denver, now 3-3, wraps up the five-game road trip on Tuesday in Memphis.
