In what is becoming an unfortunate trend for the Denver Nuggets, they trailed wire-to-wire on Saturday night in a loss to the Detroit Pistons at Pepsi Center. The 106-95 loss runs Denver to 3-6 overall and still winless at home.
A series of turnovers in the first quarter helped propel Detroit to an early lead they would not relinquish. Denver narrowed the gap to three points late in the second quarter and four points in the game’s final 3:01, but Andre Drummond and the Pistons kept the Nuggets at arm’s length for their second win over Denver in as many Saturdays.
All five Pistons starters scored in double figures, including Drummond who had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Emmanuel Mudiay and Tobias Harris tied to lead all scorers with 19 apiece.
Denver has the second half of a back-to-back in Portland on Sunday before returning to Denver for a four-game homestand where they will try and take hold of that elusive first home win.
