Clearly, there’s no understating George Hill’s value to the Utah Jazz. Hill missed eight games with a thumb injury – a span in which Utah went just 3-5, including a four-game losing skid. Hill had 22 points and three assists to help put an end to that slide as the Jazz cruised to a 108-83 win over the Nuggets on Wednesday.
Hill was a huge factor for the Jazz, but it was Denver’s shooting that was their ultimate undoing. Denver shot just 31.8 percent from the field in the loss. Starters Jusuf Nurkic, Emmanuel Mudiay and Will Barton were a combined 2-for-22.
Utah, meanwhile, shot nearly 50 percent on the night; Rudy Gobert had a double-double. The Jazz dominated in the paint, scoring 52 of their 108 from the inside.
The lone bright spot for Denver was Jamal Murray, who nearly matched his career high set just one night earlier. Murray had 23 points in 35 minutes and went 5-for-8 from 3-point range in the loss.
Denver has Thanksgiving off and will host the Thunder at Pepsi Center on Friday night.
