The Denver Broncos announced that cornerback Brendan Langley has been ruled out for Monday night’s showdown with the Oakland Raiders after suffering a concussion in the loss to the Cleveland Browns.
In four games this season, Langley only has two total tackles and zero pass deflections, but with an extremely thin secondary, the Broncos can use all of the bodies on the roster. Without Langley, Denver will be even more reliant on players like Justin Simmons and potentially even Craig Mager, who signed after the Broncos placed Chris Harris Jr. on Injured Reserve this week.
Along with Langley, linebacker Shane Ray and tight end Matt LaCosse are each listed as questionable.
Ray was a healthy scratch against Cleveland in Week 15 and told reporters afterward that he felt disrespected by the roster move. This week, Ray was not at practice on Saturday and listed as questionable with an illness for Monday Night Football.
After receiving a season-high six targets in the loss to Cleveland, LaCosse is battling a right foot injury. The 26-year old tight end has 19 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown this season.
Denver and Oakland will kickoff on Monday at 6:15 p.m. MT. The game will be televised on ESPN.
