Jamal Murray showed out last night with an impressive scoring performance.

45 points is the most Murray has scored since 2021, before he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. Murray was dealing with inflammation in that same knee over the last couple games, and it was unknown how he would perform. He put all of those questions to rest for a game, scoring from all over the floor and making play after play against the Dallas Mavericks, a defense he had struggled against in past matchups.

Is Murray “back” or not? Who knows. He will still have ups and downs, but perhaps this was a springboard moment for him to find his explosiveness again. It was just the second 30-point performance of the season for Murray, and the Nuggets need that if they want to win a championship.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn reacts to the Denver Nuggets 118-99 win in which Jamal Murray racked up an impressive 45 points, the most in a game for him since 2021. Murray was unstoppable, and the rest of the Nuggets moved aside for him to have his moment, including Nikola Jokic.

Ryan discusses the game and its implications, some history made by Jokic and Murray, and then pivots to tonight’s matchup between the Nuggets and Houston Rockets.
