Now that he has Super Bowl victories as a player and a general manager, John Elway is setting his sights on another championship.
The CoBank Colorado Senior Open is an annual event that showcases the best pros and amateurs over 50. Elway has competed in the past with great success.
In 2014, Elway finished second in the amateur category. This year he is up against 155 of the strongest competitors including five-time PGA Tour winner Danny Edwards, 21-year veteran Larry Rinker, and many more.
The grand prize this time around would be a $8,500 share of the $50,000 purse, but most importantly, winning would guarantee them a spot at the CoBank Colorado Open in July, where the grand prize would be $100,000 of a $250,000 purse.
Elway is very talented and has been known to beat his own players on the golf course including Peyton Manning.
The Colorado Senior Open will be held June 1-3 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
