John Lynch‘s induction into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame received mixed reactions in Broncos Country. Some believed that while Lynch was a Hall of Fame football player, his four seasons in Denver weren’t worthy of such an important honor.
After spending his first 11 years in Tampa Bay, Lynch came to Denver in 2004, where he would go on to four-straight Pro Bowls, total 195 tackles and help lead the Broncos defense to an AFC Championship appearance in 2005.
On Thursday, Lynch joined Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of the Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports Radio, where he admitted that the news came as a bit of a shock to him, too.
“It was a great surprise, to say the least,” Lynch said. “I didn’t even know they were voting for this at this time. I didn’t know I was up for it … As I reflect back now, to be one of 31 Broncos up there, it’s a tremendous honor. ”
