It’s been a very unique experience watching the best triple-double players in NBA history play together.
Russell Westbrook achieved his 202nd triple-double on Friday night in the Denver Nuggets win over the Brooklyn Nets. He’s the all-time leader in the stat. Nikola Jokic achieved his 145th triple-double, a monster 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 15 assists, in the same game. Jokic is currently third all-time behind only Westbrook and Oscar Robertson, but he’s climbing fast. This was his 15th triple-double in the 32 games he’s played so far this year, an outlandish pace for anyone not named Westbrook in his prime.
Westbrook and Jokic are clearly making each other better. It’s been really interesting to see how they feed off of each other, consistently find each other, and set the table for the other to be successful.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn reacts to the Denver Nuggets 124-105 win over the Brooklyn Nets in which Nikola Jokic returned from illness. He wasn’t at peak form according to him, but a 30-point triple double spoke otherwise. Russell Westbrook ALSO had a triple-double and continues to make his impact known in Nuggets uniform.
Ryan discusses the new Triple-Duo, Jamal Murray’s early injury exit, good minutes for the young players, and more.
