While the majority of professional sports have been sidelined for the last few months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MMA has been one sport still in action around the world.
The UFC has been holding events for a couple of months, and the LFA, the feeder promotion to the UFC, re-started operations in July.
Justin “J-Train” Gonzales became the new LFA featherweight champion when he defeated Jake Childers via TKO on July 10 at LFA 84.
Gonzales is a local product, fighting out of Top Notch MMA and hails from Greeley, Colorado.
Gonzales caught up with Joe Rico and Alex Ramirez of Mile High Sports’ The Final Word radio program to discuss his latest victory and what is next in his career.

“If you want to reach your goals, you have to make sacrifices, and in the end, I know it’s going to be worth it,” Gonzales said. “We are undefeated, 11-0 as a pro, Sparta belt, LFA champ, the world is mine for the taking.”
Gonzales‘s latest win extended his win streak to 20.
“It feels good to be the world champ,” He said. “I really enjoy this. My coaches keep it fun. I’m hungry. I want to take on the world plain and simple. Big things are coming!”
With his latest win and hardware, Gonzales is primed to make the jump to the UFC and told fans to stay ready for a big-time opportunity in the future.
