The Colorado Eagles have announced that they have re-signed forward Nathan Moon for the 2015-16 season. A 4th round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2008, Moon was acquired last October in a trade with the Evansville Icemen and went on to post 13 goals and 29 assists in 47 games with the Eagles. He also earned a call-up to the AHL with the Adirondack Flames where he would notch one assist in six games.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound winger has generated 123 points and 248 penalty minutes in 145 ECHL games, including stints in Evansville and with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Moon was named to the ECHL All-Star Team in 2013 and played against the Colorado Eagles during the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game at the Budweiser Events Center. In addition, the 25 year-old has appeared in 92 AHL games with the Worcester Sharks, Springfield Falcons and Adirondack, registering 14 goals and 23 assists. Moon also captured a CHL title with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs as a rookie in 2011.
The Belleville, Ontario native enjoyed a standout career at the major-junior level, spending five seasons in the OHL with the Kingston Frontenacs. In 316 games with the Frontenacs, Moon produced 332 points and 378 penalty minutes.
