With the win, Colorado now sits in fourth place in the Western Division with 30 points, just two points behind the Los Angeles Kings, who skate into town fresh off a 5-1 blowout victory against Anaheim on Wednesday.

Los Angeles has earned at least one point in 12 of its last 14 games. The Kings split a pair of games against the Avs back in mid-January. This is a big two-game series for both clubs, with both teams engaged in a battle for a playoff berth.

The Kings are missing both regular goaltenders Jonathan Quick (upper body injury) and Cal Peterson (COVID-19 protocol), forcing the club to turn to Troy Grosenick, who picked up his first NHL win in nearly seven years on Wednesday night.

The 31-year old veteran is projected to start once again this evening with 2017 draft pick Matt Villalta dressing as the backup.
