For about as long as most of us can remember, Peyton Manning has been the most popular player in the NFL. He’s been the front man in nearly every NFL-related commercial for the last decade, he’s topped NFL-jersey sales for years and he’s probably the greatest athlete to ever host Saturday Night Live.

But times have changed, both on the field and off it. And if that wasn’t clear before, it sure is now.

Ouch is right … They do realize he’s still on the team?

Three games in and Denver stores are all but giving away Manning jerseys in favor of No. 17s. They better just hope Manning doesn’t work his way back onto the field; those No. 18s may still be a hot commodity come the playoffs.

All I know is that I wouldn’t be throwing dirt on Manning’s grave just yet!
