The Denver Nuggets missed out on Dwyane Wade.
While he didn’t return home to the Miami Heat, he opted to go home to Chicago instead of coming out west to the Mile High City.
For the most part, fans understood. The vast majority never expected him to come, anyways. But, as owner Josh Kroenke said, “D-Wade was worth the chase.”
And apparently, for D-Wade, the Nuggets were worth the visit.
@nuggets I wanna thank U guys for WOW-ing my team and I. The future is bright for your organization. Much respect and this decision was hard

A simple message like that can go a long way.
In the NBA, small-market teams like the Denver Nuggets need every little bit of help they can get. It’s no easy to lure in big-name superstars without having years of success and credibility on your side.
While the support of D-Wade is no more than a drop in the bucket, it’s a start.
