Well … that didn’t take long.
Paxton Lynch has been an NFL quarterback for all of five days and he’s already earned his first Sports Illustrated cover.

That about four years faster than Brock Osweiler.
Lynch is actually one of three cover athletes this week — the others being Jared Goff and Carson Wentz — and that title couldn’t be more apt.
The Successor?
That’s what everybody’s wondering, right? Is he the next Peyton Manning? Is he the next John Elway? Heck, is he the next Brock Osweiler?
If all goes according to plan, we likely won’t get our answer this season, as Lynch would be greatly served by a year of development, but the chips are on the table. This is Elway’s man, and he expects him to succeed.
