Last week, standout Lakewood High School basketball player Mackenzie Forrest passed away from injuries she suffered during a car crash on Interstate 70. She was the team’s leading scorer, a beloved friend and long-time adorer of Steph Curry, the reigning NBA MVP.
Following her passing, the Lakewood High School Seniors Twitter account reached out to Curry to see if he could give Forrest a shoutout.

And being the humble, caring guy that he is, that’s exactly what Curry did, acknowledging Forrest prior to the Warriors’ game against the New York Knicks, where Steph went off for 34 points.

@StephenCurry30 thank you so much Mr. Curry. This means the world. I'm sure Lil Mac is freaking out in heaven. ๐๐๐๐๐

It’s a small gesture, but it undoubtedly means the world to the Forrest family and Mackenzie’s friends.
