The Denver Nuggets re-signed big man Mason Plumlee to a three-year, $41 million-dollar contract, according to ESPN. Plumlee solidifies the Nuggets’ frontcourt, which now includes All-Star Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic.
Plumlee averaged 9.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a member of the Nuggets last season after being acquired in the trade that sent Jusuf Nurkic to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Plumlee will help strengthen Denver’s core on the court, but off the court, he is looking to build a relationship with the fans and the place he now calls home, the Mile High City.
Once signed, Plumlee posted a “Letter to Nuggets Fans” on his website, detailing his excitement to be back with the squad and his passion to build a relationship with the city of the Denver and their fans.
He talks about everything from turning the Nuggets into a winner to wanting to try some famous Colorado green chili. The personalization is conveyed, but Plumlee furthered his desire to want to get the know the city and fans by allowing fans to text him on his Superphone.

Interaction like this is what helps fans connect with their team. Acts like this only help the franchise and reassure that the fans know their team and city are well represented.
“It’s definitely super-cool that Mason cares about Denver,” Nuggets fan Trey Mitchell said. “The letter to the fans was dope, and the fact that he really wants to invest himself in the city of Denver makes me happy he’s part of our team.”
The letter was a smooth move by Plumlee and will only help boost his popularity within the city and the Nuggets’ fan realm.
