Whether you believe Montee Ball or Kapri Bibbs secured the spot as the Broncos’ fourth running back might have depended on what part of the game you tuned in. If you were flipping back and forth between the Broncos, a dozen other preseason finales and the kickoff of college football season, there’s a chance you missed some good (and some bad) play by both.
And as the game unfolded, the MHS team was just as polarized at times as the play from both Ball and Bibbs…
Montee Ball in on that punt return as a potential blocker for Louks

#Broncos Ball needs a great game to make this team… While Broncos need him to have a great game so his trade value goes up.

There's no way Kapri Bibbs beats out Montee Ball on merit. Zero. #Broncos

Coach wants to see you in his office and bring your playbook. #Broncos #Bibbs.

I know the Broncos wanted to get Montee Ball going tonight. Has not happened. 10 carries for just 28 yards. Another Bronco punt. #AZvsDEN

Montee Ball gets blown up in pass protection. Still playing late in the third quarter of the final preseason game

Monte Ball can't gain yardage even with a 4th string center holding SMH #Broncos #DENvAZ #NFL

Montee Ball 12 carries for 29 yards. . . Nice showcase. . . let's see Bibbs. . . it's like they're punishing Ball for some reason. . .

Ball hasn't had much room to roam, but Bibbs was faster to the hole on that run than Ball has been, and had enough force to break tackles.

Kapri Bibbs: IN, Montee Ball: OUT… Not just in this game.
— Will Petersen (@PetersenWill) September 4, 2015
Bibbs starts getting carries over Ball and the #Broncos instantly start moving the ball
— Adam Kinney (@adamrkinney) September 4, 2015
Kapri can do errthang. Montee can run into his o-line
— Adam Kinney (@adamrkinney) September 4, 2015
Or he could have stayed & proved to NFL scouts that he could do that for 2 years https://t.co/9doGEnBdQh
— Robin Carlin (@robincarlin) September 4, 2015
If he gets drafted higher, then maybe he's not playing in the 4th quarter of the 4th preseason game, eh?!? https://t.co/vbJddtXBaR
— Robin Carlin (@robincarlin) September 4, 2015
It's incredible how much better Bibbs has been than Ball.

Montee Ball all smiles leaving the field

Which one will end up on the final 53-man roster? Gary Kubiak has Friday to figure that out.
