Colorado State football and the Denver Broncos, a match made in heaven.

No, seriously. CSU and the Broncos partnered in 2015 to create the Denver Broncos Sports Management Institute, and the bond continues on the football field, too.

On Monday, the Broncos hosted CSU head coach Mike Bobo and his quarterbacks’ coach Ronnie Letson at Dove Valley during Denver’s third week of OTAs. The Broncos may have signed Case Keenum in the offseason, but they also picked up Nick Stevens — the former Rams star gun-slinger — just after the draft this year. Bobo and Letson know Stevens better than any other coaches at this point, which is why Broncos head coach Vance Joseph may have brought them in.

From a CSU perspective, Bobo explained that while the Broncos practice is run similarly to how his Rams practices are set up, he may be able to find a drill or two to incorporate back here, in Fort Collins.

In the video shared by the Broncos, we also see Bobo chatting it up with Gary Kubiak, who knows Colorado State football very well. Two of Kubiak’s sons — Kint and Klay — played with the Rams, one as a quarterback and the other as a stud safety. And, Denver’s looked to Fort Fun for in-state talent for years, not only with Stevens recently, but Kapri Bibbs, Shaquil Barrett, Ty Sambrailo and more.

Barrett is likely the best of all the Next Level Rams currently in the NFL, but, Michael Gallup was just drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round, too. And, we can’t forget about Weston Richburg, either. He’s been phenomenal at the highest level, with the New York Giants and now the San Francisco 49ers.

The Broncos wind down OTAs this week before their long layoff until training camp kicks off in July. For Colorado State, it’s a similar schedule, with fall camp resuming in August head of their Aug. 25 game against Hawaii to start the 2018 season.
