If anyone has any idea of what, who and how good Kirk Cousins is as a franchise-caliber quarterback, it’s former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan.

Shanahan coached Cousins in Washington, and in an interview with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7, the Super Bowl-winning coach says that Cousins’ talent was immediately obvious.

“When I was with him [for] his first year in Washington, it didn’t take me [more than] two weeks to know that this guy is a special player,” Shanahan said.

“At the end of the second year, I said [that] on the right team, with the right supporting cast, this guy gives you the possibility to win a Super Bowl.”
