The Denver Nuggets have averaged just 33 wins over the past three years, but there’s plenty of optimism surrounding the 2016-17 team. Head coach Michael Malone appears to have his team headed in the right direction in his second year, while the team is loaded with talented young players and a mix of savvy veterans ready to get into the playoffs and make some noise.
Denver’s roster is split almost right down the middle. Young players like Emmanuel Mudiay, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are supremely talented and look to be the core of the franchise for the next five years or more. Established veterans like Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler have committed to Denver on team-friendly deals because they believe they can win in the Mile High City.
Meanwhile, the one veteran with a championship to his name comes a bit of a surprise on this roster. Mike Miller has seen and done just about everything in the NBA and he’s chosen Denver to be his swan song.
Plus, the guys talk about the greatest Nuggets to ever play in the NBA.
We cover all that, plus much more, in the Basketball 2016 edition of Mile High Sports on Denver 8 TV. Hosts Danny Williams and Benny Bash welcome Nuggets beat writer Aniello Piro and talking all things hoops.
