Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas continues to reach personal milestones. In the first quarter of the Broncos’ game against the Oakland Raiders, Thomas hauled in the 600th reception of his career.
That catch puts Thomas only behind Broncos Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe for second all-time, a feat he could accomplish as soon as next year if he remains a Bronco. He became only the third player in Broncos history to reach the 600-reception plateau.
Thomas came into Sunday needing one receiving touchdown to break the tie with Sharpe for second-most receiving touchdowns in Broncos history. He also came into Sunday needing only 103 yards to pass Sharpe for second most all-time in Broncos receiving history.
The Broncos’ first pick in the 2010 draft, Thomas picked up only 18 yards in the 21-14 loss to the Raiders, leaving him now 85 shy of Sharpe (8,439) and still tied with Sharpe in touchdown receptions (55).
He would need to eclipse 850 receptions and 11,390 yards to pass Rod Smith for first place on both lists.
