My mom is awesome because… by Charlie Blackmon

In May, Mile High Sports Magazine features more than a dozen stories about professional athletes and their relationships with their mothers. When we approached Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon to do a story about his mom, Ellen, he said he wanted it to be in his  words.

My mom is awesome because…

…She is a great cook and always takes care of my tummy when I come home.

…She is a good person, always does the right thing and taught me to love others.

…She has watched more baseball games than any woman I know and is my biggest supporter.

…She is always praying for me, my sister and even my friends. And she wants the best for all of us.

…She is awesome because she is my mom and because I said so.
