We know Broncos Country is excited about their new quarterback, but national media is high on Bo Nix following his first start, too.
Nix went off against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, going 15-21 for 125 yards with one touchdown, running for another 17 yards.
Yes, it was only one preseason game, but Nix’s early success has left fans wondering if this team is different than any we’ve seen since Peyton Manning retired. The rookie quarterback has delighted not just Broncos fans, but NFL observers from across the country, as well.
One game in, and national media is high on Bo Nix at QB
The kid played about a half of football on Sunday, including a handful of snaps with the starters. And yet, football heads from across the US are speaking highly of Nix’s play.
Pat McAfee was impressed with Bo Nix’s play against his Colts saying, “When Bo Nix got in, boy, was he efficient.”

Former Broncos cornerback Chris Harris tweeted, “the offense is just more dynamic with Bo Nix Legs”.
And Robert Griffin III praised the youngster’s quick processing abilities:
Bo Nix was the most efficient QB in his draft class because of his ability to process complex schemes with ease and the QUICK RELEASE you see on this TD throw. He showed that going 15/21 for 125 yards with 4 scoring drives in his preseason debut and his creativity too.

Straight up, the national media is high on Bo Nix. And for Broncos fans, that’s a great feeling after being the butt of every joke due to Russell Wilson’s play. And his “Let’s Ride” slogan that he beat like a dead horse.
Bo Nix needs to start from Week 1 on
According to Spean Payton’s first depth chart, Nix is the No. 3 QB. And while no official word about the team’s starter has come out yet, Nix has to be the guy.
In Week 1, and for the rest of the season.
What he showed in that first preseason start is the ability to make any throw on the field. He hit crossing routes, made outside throws, and even hit Josh Reynolds on a go route in the end zone. Unfortunately, that last one was dropped, but his quick throw and great accuracy on the touchdown to Marvin Mims was special.
Nix allows Payton to open up his offense and go wild. The Broncos offense will be a different animal this year with their new QB at the reins. And the quarterback “competition” is all but over.
