This year the NFL started a campaign to deliver footballs to high schools that have had a graduate that went on to win a Super Bowl as a player or coach.
More then 2,000 high schools across the nation will receive footballs. With the football comes a chance to apply for a $5,000 grant in order to help the school’s football programs.
CBS will have snippets of some the players delivering the footballs to their high schools. Two of those players will included former Denver Broncos Peyton Manning and Terrell Davis. Peyton Manning will be making the trip to Newman High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, while Terrell Davis will be going to Lincoln High School in San Diego, California
A golden ball will be making its way to a Colorado high school coming from Tyler Poloumbus. Poloumbus attended Cherry Creek high school in Centennial and was a offensive lineman on this year’s Super Bowl 50-winning Denver Broncos.
For players that are unable to visit their alma maters, the school will get a special package from the NFL with a letter and a stand to hold the ball.
The high school of Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs tweeted out a picture of the golden ball they received for Bibbs efforts this season.
